iMovie: The History of the Keeper of the Plains
|
Reflection:
Being born and raised in Wichita, I have always been fascinated with The Keeper of the Plains, so I really enjoyed researching the history of it. I even had some of my high school senior pictures taken here. I really knew nothing about it before this project, but I was most surprised to learn that it was an art sculpture created by the Native American Blackbear Bosin who donated it to the people of Wichita. I chose to do The Keeper of the Plains because it is one of Wichita's most recognizable features, and I wanted to know the story of it's history. I believe that it is an important story that contributed to Kansas history because of the meaning behind it - a tribute to Native American tribes. This was my second time using iMovie, and in my opinion, it was more difficult to maneuver than the trailer option on the app was. To make a trailer, there is already a setup that you just fill in with your media, but to make a movie you are more on your own. I think that with more practice I could master using it. I still think that it is a useful app that I will use in the future inside and outside of my classroom. If my students did a project using the trailer option, later in the unit/semester I would have them make the full 'movie' corresponding with their trailer. |
